Jan Harris

Clinical Psychologist

Jan Harris has been a long-term consultant and clinical supervisor at Delta Projects since 2003. A licensed psychologist with extensive training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Positive Behavioral Supports, Jan has spent more than 30 years specializing in melding these approaches to help people with significant behavioral and psychiatric disabilities, especially those who also have intellectual or developmental disabilities.   In addition to Delta Projects, Jan has consulted for a number of other providers supporting individuals with psychiatric and intellectual disabilities, including Advocates, the Groden Center and Growthways, as well as a serving as part-time staff psychologist at the Boston College Campus School since 1982.   Before she began her consulting career, Jan spent 15 years in the Behavioral Division at South Shore Mental Health (SSMH), first as a psychologist with the Clinical Resource Team under contract to the Southeast Region of DDS, then as the Clinical Director for Residential Services in the South Coastal Area, and finally as the Senior Clinical Director for all of South Shore Mental Health’s DDS-funded residential programs.  Working primarily as an administrator in her last years at SSMH convinced Jan that her real passion was clinical and behavioral consultation.  Jan earned her B.A. from Harvard College and her master’s and doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
